Matsuharu Japanese Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
This place has not disappointed ever since I started going some years back. The staff is always nice and quite honestly this is the best local Japanese food I’ve had. Do keep in mind the waiting for food is a bit longer than normal however it is definitely worth it.
I have been wanting to eat at this place for a long time. The place did not disappoint. The customer service gets a 10/10. There were only two people running the dining room, the register and the expediting. From seating us to getting us our drinks about 5 min passed. I had a lot of questions for our server and he explained everything I needed to know with patience. He made suggestions which were very good. He constantly checked on us without being pushy. The food was AMAZING, we were there only an hour before closing too. The place is small and not in any way fancy, but that kind of made part of the dive asthetic. This will be my go-to Japanese spot as long as it's open. I have nothing bad to say about the place. HIGHLY recommend.
Food: 1000/10. I ordered the shio ramen (spicy) and it was delicious!!! The best ramen i’ve had in a while. the broth was so flavorful and had the right spices in there. The staff was so sweet and accommodating! They were amazing to us the whole time I was eating.
The service is amazing, they are kind and courteous. Such a small restaurant, but very cozy. Food is amazing I love the spicy chashumen ramen and my husband loves the regular ramen. It is spicy okay... We haven't tried all the menu because we are stuck with the favorites Be sure to get here early because they fill up quickly!!
This was my first visit today, and wow— the food was so delicious that I felt genuinely happy while eating! Since the owner is Japanese, I could really feel the authentic flavor and taste of Japan, which made me even happier. I’ll definitely visit again! Next time, I want to try the tonkotsu ramen and the pork cutlet curry.
My husband and I recently got back from Japan and were craving something authentic. Lucky for us, this place came through and delivered. The chicken katsu curry was so yummy, and the portions were pretty generous. The onigiri was fresh and flavorful too. What really blew us away though is that there’s only one chef cooking everything by herself. The place was packed, and she was running the whole kitchen solo. That alone deserves all the respect, but the fact that the food was as good as it was is even more impressive. You can really taste the care she puts into every dish. Our servers were super friendly too. We’ll definitely be back!
I am Japanese who moved from Japan to El Paso last year. I've been on search for a decent Japanese food in El Paso but never was able to find one until I visited Matsuharu. I felt like home and the food was great! My son who was raised with my Japanese cooking ate every dishes we ordered. This will be my go to place when I crave Japanese food. I will definitely bring my family here when they are visiting from Japan!
My husband & I tried to come here three times but each time they were closed even though google said they were open. My advice to anyone who wants to eat here is to check their Facebook page before going to confirm that they’re open. All this to say that it was worth the wait. The service was excellent and food was delicious! Everything we tried was so so good. Our server was super friendly and made great recommendations. Highly recommend coming here for ramen!
